The J. Ira and Nicki Harris Family Hostel
Our nonprofit hostel welcomes travelers from across the country and around the world. Our hostel serves Chicago as an important tourism partner by welcoming thousands of guests each year, especially younger travelers visiting the city. We also provides cultural education to local high school students.
The hostel opened in October 2000 and hosts over 90,000 overnight stays per year. At any given time, more than half of HI Chicago’s guests are international travelers. Travelers rated HI Chicago as the Best Large Hostel in the World three years in a row.
